Mabel Bassett

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Today was our final day of on-site shooting for Women Behind Bars:  The Voices of Oklahoma’s Incarcerated Women and their Children.  Thanks to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for being so helpful in guiding us through our shooting day at Mabel Bassett.

Fred Jones Enterprises Building

The Fred Jones Enterprises building has been for several years the venue for the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC)’s annual 12×12 fundraiser.  This year they invited local photographers to document the site.  I love architectural photography and couldn’t resist!  Here are some of my favorites from my time there – the first one was selected to be printed and hung at the 12×12 exhibition on September 25th!

…from an amazing production.  I am so excited about this project.  I am proud to be a part of this small, hardworking crew.  Here’s to making the impossible happen.

Allied Arts gets their name in lights!

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

I took a trip to Oklahoma City today to photograph the Fred Jones Industries building for OVAC‘s upcoming 12×12 show and meet with those talented guys over at the Foundry Collective about the new site they are developing for me – and in their new office/studio space (which is amazing, if you haven’t seen it).  A trip to Coffee Slingers is very near mandatory for me every time I go to OKC, and today I got to witness a really cool moment on Broadway.  In the course of events I met some great women who do amazing work supporting the arts in our community, as well as some gentlemen who do very nice work on signage.  (Did I mention I’m fascinated by large machinery?)  Congrats to Allied Arts OKC on their new sign!
