Sarah Warmker Photography | About

Sarah Warmker was born and raised in central Oklahoma, where she learned to use a camera for the first time at the age of 7.  By 12, she was working in the darkroom, developing and printing her own film.  In 2010 she received a BFA in Photography and a BA in Latin American Studies.  She is currently a candidate for a MA in Spanish Literature from the University of Oklahoma.

Sarah’s most recent body of work is a series of botanical landscapes shot entirely on film and dedicated to the memory of Jackie Dill, founder of the Oklahoma Wildcrafting group. Jackie shared her priceless knowledge about wild plants with endless generosity and tireless spirit. This series, called “The Four Directions,” is inspired by her focused observations of the dynamic transformations of the plant world, with a hope that we may all one day cultivate such reverence and wisdom.  You can learn more about Jackie’s work from the Oklahoma Wildcrafting group.
