It has become something of a tradition for me to bring my camera with me to holiday celebrations and take pictures of everyone, especially the kids, who somehow never tire of cheesing it up for my camera.  In fact, they sometimes ask me to document their favorite toys or lego creations, or want to see what their funny face looks like frozen on the little viewing screen on the back of my camera.

I am thankful for my family, who has always been incredibly supportive – or, in the more unusual moments I decided to get out my camera, at least tolerant – of my photography work.  It was my granddad, pictured below getting “attacked” by a plastic power chainsaw, who gave me my first 35mm camera when I was about 13.  Someday, I hope to pass on some fun camera stuff to these little ones, when they get old enough.
